About LocalOutings

LocalOutings was created with the goal of making it easier for people to discover things to do from a broad diversity of
of possibilities in their local area. That goal reflects three key aspects of LocalOutings:

Discovery. LocalOutings is designed to help you find familar places, but also
find new places, new events, and new activities you might not have been previously aware of. Through the use of
search tags assigned to places and events, you can follow threads of association. If you find a place or event
that sounds interesting, you can find similar places or events.

|
Diverse listings. As a search engine, LocalOutings strives to cover a broad scope of places and events that
appeal to a wide range of interests. Users can submit places and events to include in our index so we are able to
constantly expand our listings and keep them current.

|
Local. People living in a particular metropolitan area think in terms of the local geography when considering
things to do. LocalOutings lets you broaden and narrow the geographical areas that make sense to your search.

LocalOutings is very customer focused. We discuss our ideas constantly with potential users, and strongly encourage you
to provide feedback to us on what you think about the site. We believe in evolving the site to meet the needs and
desires of our users.

LocalOutings was founded by Peter Panec, who has extensive experience in Internet technology. In a former life he also
published a magazine called Urban Explorer which had a similar goal as LocalOutings to provide readers with a
diverse sampling of local things to do.
